Ruithéal Rí Herb Robert drypoint etching

Herb Robert is such a hardy little plant, present throughout the year and one of my favourite wildplants.

It is said to have been named after Robert de Milemes, a healer and saint from the 11th century.Peeping up out from our native Irish hedgerows, on the verges of fields, ancient walls and meadows, providing a constant food source for the birds and pollinators when other food sources are fading. I love Herb Robert for many different reasons, for it's lush lacy, tiny fern like appearance, it can withstand any weather, it is a wondreful medicinal plant, a natural source of germanium which is an oxygen carrier. Herb Robert's tiny, vibrant pink flowers provide a food source throughout the year.
